Product details

Set of 3 Dodoland Kiwiana icons:

Kiwi are a significant national icon, equally cherished by all cultures in New Zealand. Kiwi are a symbol for the uniqueness of New Zealand wildlife and the value of our natural heritage. The kiwi is a unique and curious bird: it cannot fly, has loose, hair-like feathers, strong legs and no tail.

The tiki is a symbol of fertility and is seen to possess thought and strength of character. A Hei-Tiki is a renown Māori neck pendant usually made from greenstone in New Zealand.

Tuatara are rare, medium-sized reptiles found only in New Zealand. They are the last survivors of an order of reptiles that thrived in the age of the dinosaurs. Tuatara are the only surviving members of the order Sphenodontia, which was well represented by many species during the age of the dinosaurs, some 200 million years ago. All species except the tuatara declined and eventually became extinct about 60 million years ago.

Pack includes 3 Kiwiana Icons:

Kiwi
