Product details
Bathed in kowhai and stardust, the kereru (New Zealand pigeon) emerges like a vision—mysterious, powerful, and essential. This magical moment celebrates a forest guardian whose wide gape allows it to feast on native berries, helping regenerate our ngahere. In spring, you might see these hefty birds balancing improbably on spindly kowhai branches, gorging on flowers and leaves as golden light filters through the trees.
Based on original photographs by Judi, digital brushwork, and additional ephemera, this artwork was created using digital compositing. It is available as a limited-edition print on archival fine-art paper in sizes large (40x40cm, edition of 5) and extra-large (80x80cm, edition of 3), with an additional white margin. Each piece is hand-signed, editioned, and printed with archival inks on heavyweight paper and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Prints are shipped rolled using acid-free packaging.
