Product details
Open Edition Freehand Digital Art Print by Cathy Hansby
The endearing Kakapo is a nocturnal, flightless, ground dwelling parrot, endemic to New Zealand. Once widespread around the country, by the 1990's only 50 birds remained. All Kakapo now live in predator controlled sanctuaries or off-shore islands, as their population slowly recovers through intense conservation efforts.
Created by local artist Cathy Hansby, drawn freehand using a digital tablet and desktop. Her modern style captures the personality of our unique wildlife, with bold colour and subtle detail. Cathy's art supports NZ Forest & Bird with their conservation work. The Kakapo image features lush green against a deep charcoal background.
Each art print is printed to order, producing a high quality Giclee fine art print on smooth archival art paper. Giclee is one of the best reproduction methods available, using acid free paper and the latest archival inks. Prints have a lifespan over 100 years.
