The Guardian (Ruru)

One look at these huge owl eyes, and you know this ruru will not miss a thing! Spanning vast eras and many cultures, owls are considered spiritual, and our myths and legends are filled with them. Those with a European background may gravitate to the wisdom of owls. In Maori tradition in Aotearoa - New Zealand, the tiny ruru (morepork) owl is considered by many to be a kaitiaki - a watchful guardian and protector. This digital painting is based on original photographs by Judi. It is available as a limited-edition print on archival fine-art paper in sizes large (40x40cm, edition of 20) and extra-large (80x80cm, edition of 10), with an additional white margin. Each piece is hand-signed, editioned, and printed with archival inks on heavyweight paper and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Prints are shipped rolled using acid-free packaging.
