Hidden beneath Lake Wakatipu in the heart of Queenstown, Time Tripper takes you 10 metres underwater into a black light theatre where you’ll come face-to-face with New Zealand’s long-fin eels, diving scaup ducks, rainbow and brown trout, and chinook salmon.
Then, watch the underwater observatory transform into a movie theatre for Time Tripper - a state-of-the-art animated film. It is the only place in Queenstown where you can visually learn about the Maori Legend of Lake Wakatipu, before traveling 90 million years back in time to witness how New Zealand was formed. Kids will love seeing the dinosaurs that roamed the Southern Lakes region, while adults will enjoy a fascinating dive into history and legend.
Open year-round from 9:45am, the full experience takes around 30 minutes.
