Open Edition Freehand Digital Art Print by Cathy Hansby
This majestic seabird is endemic to New Zealand, and one of the most endangered. They breed on the remote Auckland and Antipodean islands.
Their massive 3m wingspan allows them to glide effortlessly across the ocean between Southern Australia and Chile. They can vary in colour from black and white to brown and white, depending on age.
At sea, in search of food, their encounters with long line fishing boats have lead to a sharp decline in their population. By adopting seabird-friendly fishing methods, we could change the future for these birds.
Created by local artist Cathy Hansby, drawn freehand using a digital tablet and desktop. Her modern style captures the personality of our unique wildlife, with bold colour and subtle detail. Cathy's art supports NZ Forest & Bird with their conservation work. The Albatross image features bold black and white against a moody grey background. Each art print is printed to order, producing a high quality Giclee fine art print on smooth archival art paper. Giclee is one of the best reproduction methods available, using acid free paper and the latest archival inks. Prints have a lifespan over 100 years.
